EA Sports has consistently released topnotch football titles for years and Madden 2000, its latest entry into the computer football marketplace, is no different. Whether you enjoy the bullet passing of Brett Favre or the slippery running of Terrell Davis, this game delivers touchdown dances, circus catches, and bone-crushing hits. Computer gridiron enthusiasts should have little trouble diving into the intuitive--and plentiful--gameplay controls, allowing players to immediately enter the action. The game features all 31 teams (the expansion Cleveland Browns are included) as well as an impressive list of all-star and classic squads. With gorgeous player-specific 3-D graphics, and an enhanced franchise mode, Madden 2000 raises the current pigskin standard. A common complaint of previous Madden editions was the near-impossible rushing offense; defensive linemen often jammed the lanes and their offensive counterparts couldn't set up or hold blocks. Madden 2000 improves the rushing game dramatically and linemen create gaping holes and even block downfield. The Madden passing game continues to excel; Madden 2000 allows players to tweak options like cornerback intelligence and quarterback accuracy to further enhance and customize the passing experience.
